CREATING AN EXPERIENCE-DRIVEN HOSPITALITY CONCEPT FROM THE GROUND UP.
The Hospitality group behind Market Garden Brewery launched their first restaurant concept in 2003: Bier Markt & Bar Cento, a beloved Belgian beer bar and Italian eatery that helped fuel the renaissance of Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood. After a successful 19-year run, this thriving area was ready for new energy — and the ownership team wanted to create something completely new, special and exciting.
Sixth Element helped them build a new concept from the ground up — from naming and identity all the way through design/build and digital expression.
ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIIIGHT SIDE OF LIFE.
Bright Side is warm, inviting, optimistic, inclusive and — first and foremost, fun. Sparkly starburst brand patterning complements warm throwback magazine-inspired collage imagery. The website brings the spirit of the space to life digitally through sophisticated yet playful visual design.
Sixth Element lovingly selected every material, finish and furnishing for the 6400 sq ft, four-room space. Shimmery gold, pink and peach accents embody the warmth and sparkly celebration of “Bright Side,” balanced by the cooler earth tones of white oak and deep, low-intensity greens. Gold penny-tile glimmers beneath the pearlescent carousel bar. Moody uplighting highlights a 60-foot art installation of pixellated ombre framing a yellow rose centerpiece that mirrors the “cutout” style of the website. Additional spaces included the Emerald Room, the adjoining Leopard Lounge, and the Alice Room, a private dining space with human-height poppies and grass-tone floors.
