PLACES is a real estate development and investment firm dedicated to creating vibrant and memorable settings where people live and thrive.
Founded in 2024 by Dan Whalen, PLACES focuses on thoughtful, high-quality design and placemaking to enhance neighborhoods and cities. The company vision is to establish a national presence with a portfolio of differentiated multifamily, mixed-use, and hospitality-driven properties.
To support the launch of this new firm, PLACES enlisted Sixth Element to craft a visually sophisticated brand that evokes the spirit, aesthetic and thoughtful approach that differentiates the brand, business and each beautifully-designed and curated mixed-use project within the places portfolio now and in future.
THOUGHTFUL, HIGH-QUALITY DESIGN ENHANCES NEIGHBORHOODS AND CITIES.
The PLACES logo is clean, sophisticated, bold and timeless — communicating the brand identity through its simplicity of both design and concept. The name PLACES is enclosed in a shape that speaks conceptually yet also directly the idea of places and spaces. The secondary, stacked version of the logo adds flexibility, visual interest and dynamic balance to the brand core.
An inviting, modern color palette of warm peach, pink and neutrals, balanced by a calm teal blue, complements the bold black-and-white logo. A confident pop of highlighter-bright yellow plays with the brand warmth, adding contemporary flair and utility (for call-to-action buttons, highlights and statistics). The warm, approachable serif headline font and friendly script subhead font balance the clean, minimalist sans serif logo and body copy fonts.
